The Associate Pastor is a ministry position for offering pastoral care, new visitors contacts, post-hospital care, newcomer luncheon leadership, contemporary service worship team leadership, adult education leadership, shutin ministry leadership and and assortment of other tasks to assist the senior pastor in caring for the needs of the church.

Personal Info
Steve has served as an associate pastor at Bethel UMC part time since May, 2004 and full time since April 2010. As part of his position, he also leads worship at the contemporary service. Steve grew up in rural Preble County, Ohio, one of four children, and his family attended West Elkton United Methodist Church.
Steve graduated from Preble Shawnee High School, Camden, Ohio, in 1974. He earned a BS in Biblical Studies at Cincinnati Christian University, graduating cum laude in 2004.
Steve was called into the ministry after spending 20 years in rotogravure printing. Prior to his appointment to Bethel UMC, he was a duly licensed pastor in the State of Ohio, and his previous ministry experience includes worship leader at the Cincinnati Eastside Vineyard Church, worship leader and elder/shepherd at Franklin Chapel, an internship for his degree program, and. contemporary worship pastor intern at Bethel UMC.
Steve and Dona have been married since 1976, with three grown children, Mindy, Billy, and Stefanie, and three grandchildren, Kendal, Kyra, and Johnny. They also have six international children, five through child sponsorships and one through a German exchange program. Dona, a former court reporter and a licensed realtor, also holds a BS in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University.
Steve's Special Interests
Steve and Dona have shared a Christian music ministry called “Sanctuary” for many years. They also work with Compassion International and enjoy traveling to missions outside the country. In his spare time, Steve is an avid reader and guitar player.
