Personal Information
J.D. Young, (John David) began serving in this position on May 1, 2010. J.D. is a Milford native and a graduate of the University of Toledo with a B.A. Degree in Communications. He has begun initial Seminary training at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, but will complete his seminary training elsewhere.
J.D.'s spiritual roots are in the Faith Evangelical Free Church of Milford, Ohio. While studying at the University of Toledo, J.D. was active in Campus Crusade for Christ. Prior to pursuing a youth ministry career, J.D. spent a brief period working as a district executive for the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America. As he felt a hunger for more face to face relationships with youth, God moved him in a youth ministry direction. J.D. entered an internship at Faith Evangelical Free Church, and then served one year as the part-time Youth Pastor at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
J.D. was already well-known to our youth and young adults. He had previously served our youth in occasional volunteer roles as a drummer in our youth praise team, a retreat worker, a substitute speaker in youth worship services, and other occasional roles during the youth ministry of his predecessor. He began this position with a good history of positive connection with our youth and young adults.
