Former Associate Pastor.
Pastor Fultz became the Pastor at Maineville United Methodist Church in July 2018. Our prayers and blessings go with Steve and Dona to their new church.
Steve grew up attending West Elkton United Methodist Church in rural Preble County, Ohio. He has served as the associate pastor at Bethel UMC part time since May 2004 and full time since April 2010. As part of his position, he provides much of the pastoral care of the church and also leads worship at the contemporary service.
Steve graduated from Preble Shawnee High School in Camden, Ohio, in 1974. He was called into the ministry after spending 20 years in rotogravure printing and then earned a BS in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University, graduating cum laude in 2004. After joining the staff at Bethel UMC, he enrolled at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio and graduated from the Course of Study there in 2013.
Prior to his appointment as associate pastor at Bethel UMC, he was a duly licensed pastor in the State of Ohio. His previous ministry experience includes "Sanctuary," a personal music ministry, worship leader at the Cincinnati Eastside Vineyard Church, board member of the Youth Emphasis Project of WAKW, an internship for his degree program at Franklin Chapel, counselor at the Cincinnati Billy Graham Mission in 2002, worship leader and elder/shepherd at Franklin Chapel, and contemporary worship pastor intern at Bethel UMC.
Steve's interests include Compassion International, a Christian child sponsorship organization that he has worked with since 1994, serving as Area Coordinator in the Cincinnati/Dayton area for several years. During that time, he was privileged to attend national conferences throughout the United States, as well as travel to missions outside the country. In his spare time, Steve is an avid reader and guitar player, and he has recently established a men's target shooting group at the church.
Steve and his wife, Dona, have been married since 1976, with three adult children, Mindy, Billy, and Stefanie, and three grandchildren, Kendal, Kyra, and Johnny. They also have eight international children, seven through child sponsorships and one through a German exchange program, and one international grandchild. Dona, a former court reporter and a licensed realtor, also holds a BS in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University and enjoys supporting Steve's ministry through the worship team and various counseling opportunities.
